F-1 Student Visa Application
For students applying from outside the United States. Follow these steps to obtain your F-1 visa and enroll at LADO.

Application Steps
- Apply to LADO and receive your Acceptance Letter
- Pay the SEVIS I-901 fee at fmjfee.com
- Receive your I-20 form from LADO
- Complete DS-160 form online
- Schedule and attend your embassy interview
- Receive your F-1 visa — then enroll at LADO!
F-1 Transfer to LADO
Already in the US on an F-1 visa at another school? You can transfer your SEVIS record to LADO in 3 simple steps.
Apply to LADO
Complete the LADO enrollment application and submit required documents.
Request Transfer
Ask your current school's DSO to release your SEVIS record to LADO.
Receive New I-20
LADO issues your new I-20 and you begin classes on the transfer date.
Change of Status
If you are already in the United States on a different visa type (tourist, work, etc.), you may be able to change your status to F-1 without leaving the country.
Who Can Apply?
You may be eligible to change your status to F-1 if you:
- Are currently in the US in lawful non-immigrant status
- Have not violated the conditions of your current visa
- Have been accepted to a SEVIS-approved institution (like LADO)
- Can demonstrate financial ability to support your studies
How to Apply
- Apply and receive acceptance from LADO
- LADO issues a new I-20 for change of status
- File Form I-539 (Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status) with USCIS
- Pay the SEVIS I-901 fee
- Await USCIS approval before beginning classes
